In the last two decades of the 20th century cartes de visites and boudoir portraits could be found in any city or small town on flea markets, in second hand bookshops or while strolling around a garage sale. From London to Ljubljana, from Sydney to New York during family visits, while attending photography festivals or curating exhibitions many were purchased. Not only the remarkable features and hairdo (in a sense of likely to be noticed as being uncommon or extraordinary) of those being photographed but also the lush backdrops of clumsy 19th century studio portraits and lavishly typography on the backside of cartes de visites were among the selection criteria. About 20 cartes de visites are presented in ccCIPhoR.
